Newbie questions...

It's noted that php-cgi.exe is missing from c:\php. Is this OK?

Also, how do I install "extensions"?

jon, as I told u on the mailing list, it is better you install a WAMP software to make sure everything gets loaded fine.

I suggest www.wampserver.com - especially if you want it for testing purposes. I do not suppost you will use this set up for working environment (I always suggest Linxu as OS for hosting, OR else, at least a Server version of Windows).

Extensions can be installed by downloading (normally they would come with the PHP package itself) dll files, and enable them from php.ini file Smile Also in the worst possible scenario, I'd suggest registering them using regsvr32 pathtodll - more info here : http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q249/8/73.asp

What DBMS are you going with? If its Mysql then I guess wampserver is the way to go - it ease alot of things for u Smile
